The
Cherry Creek Area Plan will update the Cherry Creek Neighborhood Plan (adopted January 2000). Since 2000, the city has adopted Blueprint Denver, expanded the light rail system, reconsidered transportation planning and street design through the Strategic Transportation Plan and the Living Streets Initiative, and drafted a strategic parking plan and a new zoning code. In addition, several major redevelopment projects have taken place in the Cherry Creek neighborhood since 2000, and more are expected in the near future.
During the Cherry Creek Area Plan process, we will analyze the strengths, opportunities and challenges in Cherry Creek in light of new policies and regulations, recent as well as anticipated infill development. The Cherry Creek Area Plan will make recommendations and establish implementation strategies to carry the Cherry Creek neighborhood through the next decade.
