PROJECT CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY
Castle Rock Construction has begun work on the City and County of Denver’s project to widen 56

Early project activities have included the relocation of fences in the corridor and earthwork grading. Construction of a new bridge over the haul road and the widening of the bridge over the Havana Channel are underway. Construction of the new westbound lanes in concrete pavement for 56
th Avenue is scheduled to be completed by the end of the June. When concrete pavement is completed, two-way traffic will be shifted to the new lanes and reconstruction of the new eastbound lanes will begin.
In a concurrent project, Xcel Energy is testing and upgrading a major natural gas line in the corridor.
