What is a Quick Permit?
A Quick Permit is a permit obtained without the need of plan review. It includes:
- Architectural: roofing, siding
- Structural: no structural modifications can be permitted as a Quick Permit.
- Electrical: minor work: ten or less new 20 amp/120 volt circuits, relocating lights, relocating outlets, less than 200 amp service unless adding equipment rated greater than 20 amps.
- Mechanical/plumbing: “like for like” replacement of mechanical or plumbing elements that are not exempt. Like for like includes no change in geometry, demand, or materials.

What type of construction is considered exempt work and does not require a building permit?
Section 150.2 of the Denver Building Code Amendments states which work activities do not require building permitting for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other construction activities.
Adminstrative Policy 150.2.2 provides additional exemptions to Section 150.2.2.
*A permit from Wastewater Management, Zoning Administration, or the Fire Department may be required even if a building permit is not required.
