Progress Report
200 W. 14th Ave. Renovation Accommodates New Users
The bond-funded renovation of 200 W 14th Avenue was completed in October of 2009, making way for two new users of the facility. The facility, formerly known as the Permit Building, was a one- stop shop to pick up building permits. The Environmental Health Department has occupied a portion of the renovated facility since October, and the city prepares to move a second user, the Elections Division, in March of 2010 to complete the occupancy of the building.
The 60,000 square foot office building at 200 West 14th Avenue was vacant since 2005. A total of approximately $3.4 million dollars was budgeted to complete the renovation to various aspects of the building shell including the walls, ceiling, floors, HVAC, ducts, alarms and other related features. All scopes incorporated green print standards as define by Mayor Hickenlooper's executive order 123. Low voc paint, carpet and materials along with increased HVAC efficiencies brought the building back into the 21st century.
