This profession has many rewards.  Despite the long hours and midnight shifts, the satisfaction can be difficult to find anywhere else.  People depend on your ability to help them when help is needed most.  It can be very rewarding working as a team member, especially when you consider the mission.  You are doing something worthwhile.  Public safety is important to our society and culture.  It is much easier to work at something that has high social value than something that does not.  Survey after survey of workers’ needs and attitudes have consistently said people want the responsibility to do a job well, and public safety communications carries a lot of responsibility with it.  Do you want responsibility?  Do you want to save lives?  Do you want to make a difference?  It will come with this position automatically.

Our Training Program offers an 8 week classroom environment followed by an extensive individualized training on the floor for an additional 60 to 90 days.  Once released from training the Dispatcher/Agent has numerous opportunities for continued education offered internally, through other agencies, Denver Police Department and Denver City and County programs.
