The Denver Department of Health and Human Services provides financial assistance and Medicaid benefits for blind and other eligible individuals with disabilities.
Denver Commission for People with Disabilities
The Denver Commission for People with Disabilities advocates for the civil rights of people with disabilities and advises the Mayor on accessibility of city government in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Early Intervention for Developmental Disabilities (Part C)
Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a wide range of Part C early intervention services are available to enhance the development of infants and toddlers who have, or are at risk for developmental delays.

The Division of Workforce Development assists individuals with disabilities benefits applications and questions, and secures access to services needed to obtain and maintain employment. Several workforce centers provide assistive technology, including text magnification, text reading software, speak and type software, audio amplification and other physical accommodations.
Interpretive Services for Hearing Impaired
The Denver Commission for People with Disabilities provides interpretive services to ensure access to City programs and services.
Special Needs Therapeutic Recreation Programs
The Denver Department of Parks and Recreation provides highly qualified, certified Therapeutic Recreation specialists to facilitate a wide variety of programs, including adapted aquatics, snow and water skiing, hand cycling, rock climbing, fitness, social arts and crafts programs, and Special Olympics competitive training opportunities.
