Safe City Youth Leadership Team (SCYLT)
 



Safe City Youth Leadership Team (SCYLT) is made up of young people (14-17) looking to take an active role in the community.  The SCYLT promotes community and civic engagement by youth while providing them with skills that will assist them in making significant contributions to solving problems within their community.  As part of this program, team members host an annual Youth Summit which serves to challenge young people to engage in meaningful dialogue with city leaders about youth-specific activities and provides a forum for young people to discuss topics ranging from health, safety, secondary education and job readiness.  Since its inception, the Youth Summit has been attended by over 15,000 youth and adults.
