Pre-application research & discussion
This information is being provided to help guide you to the right staff team as you are making your plans for land use and development in Denver.

  • You may want to start with the Business Assistance Center, Office of Economic Development. They have a Concierge service to provide assistance.

  • The first question is if you have a specific site in mind for your proposal.  If you do not, you may want to contact one of the following. The Office of Economic Development can help find a suitable location. For a program summary, click here.

  • If you have a specific area in mind, you might contact one of the area planners or urban designers to talk about options in their areas of geographic responsibility.  Click here for the planners and here for the designers.

  • If you have a specific site in mind, you should try and find out the following before you make your plans:
    • the legal description and address of the property
    • what the property is zoned
    • what is the current use of the property
    • where the major access points are located
    • what existing structures are on the property
Please keep in mind that the following special circumstances may affect the development of the property: variances, non-conforming status of the use or structure, site-specific zone district waivers and conditions, PUD stipulations, landmark designation, inclusion in an already approved site plan such as a Planned Building Group, location along a designated Parkway, or location subject to a view plane.
