Public Health Inspection
Food Manufacturing
A wide range of food manufacturers must be licensed in the City of
Denver, including slaughter houses, beverage plants, commercial
bakeries, canners, bottlers, confectioneries, dairies, fish processors,
etc.
Regulation of these facilities depends on the location that the finished product reaches.
We
share the inspection and regulatory responsibility with the State of
Colorado, the United States Department of Agriculture and the Food and
Drug Administration if the product is sold within the state or within
the United States.
If the product contains meat the USDA is always involved.
Small
manufacturers of products like cookies, salsas, jams, condiments, etc.
that are intended for sale outside of your own retail/restaurant
facility shall meet all labeling, safe food handling and commissary
requirements.
