South Federal Rehabilitation

(Denver)…The Department of Public Works completed the rehabilitation of South Federal Boulevard (State Highway 88) between Louisiana Avenue and Jewell Avenue.
The work will begin at Louisiana Avenue and progress south to Jewell Avenue. The major component of this project is the removal of the existing pavement and the placement of new 11 1/2” new concrete pavement within this stretch of Federal Boulevard. New construction of the concrete box culvert which carries Federal Blvd. over Sanderson Gulch will increase the hydraulic capacity. Other improvements include new curb, gutter, and sidewalk, as well as new street lights, traffic lights and traffic signal poles.
Sidewalk construction, landscaping, and traffic signals will be completed within each work area.
The general contractor for the project - Jalisco International. The cost of the project - $5.8 million. The project is expected to be complete by April of 2008.
