Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) is a process for selecting products or services that have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with competing products or services that serve the same purpose. Denver's EPP Policy is contained in Executive Order 33, Section 8, "It is the policy of the City and County of Denver to procure Environmentally Preferable Products (EPP) and services that can minimize harmful effects on human health and the environment." The City and County of Denver is continually looking for products that are safer for city employees, better for the environment and in most cases are equally or less in price.
