Statistics show that 1 in 6 women will be the victim of a sexual assault some time in their life. The Denver DA’s Office is part of a team effort to improve how the criminal justice system, health agencies and victim services work together to help victims. This effort is guided by the Sexual Assault Interagency Council. Chairperson and Police Commander Deb Dilley joins DA Mitch Morrissey on this edition of Dialogue Denver DA.

Denver Health Medical Center sees between 300-350 adult and child sexual assault victims per year.

There were 350 sexual assaults and 548 other sexual offenses reported to the Denver Police Department in 2007.

True. College women are among the female population most vulnerable to sexual assault but are also less likely to report it. This may be due in part to the consumption of alcohol and the fact the perpetrator is most often a fellow student.
