PARKING FINES INCREASE
The cost of illegal parking on Denver streets gets steeper
 
Denver Public Works Right of Way Enforcement says starting October 1st the cost of a Type 1 parking ticket is $25, up from $20.  The fine for parking in spaces specified for people with disabilities is going from $100 to $150.  And parking in a Street /Repair and Parking Tow-Away Zones changes to $25.00 for the first offense, $50.00 for subsequent offenses.

Mayor John Hickenlooper recently announced his appointment of John R. Lucero to the Denver Water Board.
 
Lucero is a broker associate at Lucero Real Estate, Inc., a local real estate company that offers residential, commercial, development and investment real estate expertise.   He currently serves as a member of the Denver Zoning Code Task Force and was a member of the mayor’s transition team for community planning and development in 2003.

MAYOR SUBMITS FY2008 BUDGET PROPOSAL

Safety, Quality of Life focus of Mayor’s 2008 Budget Proposal

Mayor John Hickenlooper delivered a balanced budget plan to Denver City Council, reflecting the administration’s focus on effective and efficient delivery of core services to citizens of the Mile High City.

The $866 million FY 2008 Budget Proposal represents 3% growth over 2007, and includes $44.5 million for capital projects.

"The proposed 2008 budget reflects our continued efforts to generate efficiencies within our existing programs and align limited additional resources with critical priorities that best and most directly serve the needs of our citizens," says Hickenlooper in a letter to City Council and Denver residents.
