Denver Names First CFO
Mayor John Hickenlooper has announced his appointment of Claude Pumilia as Denver’s first chief financial officer (CFO).
 
Pumilia brings 15 years of experience as a senior operating and financial executive to his new position, which was created in November 2006 when Denver citizens approved a historic Charter amendment. The vote paved the way for the City to modernize its financial structure by bringing all critical functions under a single accountable executive for the first time.

Denver Designated a National Leader in Casey Foundation Family to Family Initiative
Chosen as One of Three National Host Sites to Help other Child Welfare Agencies Improve Outcomes for Children and Families

Denver was named today by the Annie E. Casey Foundation as a national Family to Family host site that will be regularly visited by child welfare agencies from around the country to share its innovative achievements and practice reforms in foster care and child welfare.

Denver was named as one of three Family to Family host sites, along with Cleveland, OH and Louisville, KY.  These are locations where other public agencies will come to observe and learn child welfare “best practices” based on four core strategies of team decision-making, recruitment and support of foster resource families, community partnerships and evaluation.

Denver Announces New Assessor
   Department of Revenue taps Paul Jacobs
 
March 7, 2007 - The Denver Department of Revenue announced the hiring of Paul Jacobs as the City’s new Assessor.  Jacobs’ initial focus will be to complete the 2007 reappraisal of all Denver properties.

Jacobs has worked in both the public and private sectors and brings 30 years of broad experience in the assessment field.
