On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will aslo be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. 2009 Mayor’s Design Awards Announced
Mayor John Hickenlooper celebrated the growing number of Denver’s homeowners, small business owners and developers who have made design excellence a priority in their community at the fifth annual Mayor's Design Awards. The program honored 15 diverse projects that enhance the city.

Welcome Revamped Park
July 7 - A ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony of west Denver’s newly remodeled Bear Creek Park, located at the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and Hampden Avenue. The park has undergone an extensive renovation.

Latino Rythms
July 18 - The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs presents Latino Rhythms at Lincoln Park, 11th Ave. and Mariposa St. Latino Rhythms highlights Latino music, dance and heritage. This event is free and open to the public.

Bike to Work Day

June 24 - Bike to Work Day represents a grassroots effort across the state to experience the benefits of using two wheels to get to work. Find out more. Stop by Civic Center Park "Breakfast Station"


New Public Art Bike Tour
July 19 - A new Public Art Tour, via biking, allows citizens and visitors to experience some of Denver’s most architecturally stunning environments, as well as view noteworthy artworks and learn the intimate details of their creation and installation.

June - A series of public meetings will be held to gather input on the current residential trash and recycling services offered by the City of Denver.
 
 


Library Used Book Sale Returns to June
June 12-14  The Used Book Sale public activities will be held at Denver Central Library (under the tents).  More than 80,000 books,CDs, DVDs and books-on-tape available.

Home Ownership Fair
June 13 - Denver Housing Authority knows how exciting and stressful it can be buying your first home. This FREE event can help. Housing counselors teach you not only how to buy a home, but how to hold on to the one that you’ve got.

Digital Bookmobile
June 19, 20: The Denver Public Library will host the Digital Bookmobile, an immersive download experience inside a 74-foot, high-tech tractor-trailer to experience the DPLs audiobook, eBook, music, and video download services.
