Denver Justice Center Gains Green Award
Post Office/Parking Garage Achieves Silver LEED Rating
 
The new Denver Justice Center complex has received a final SILVER LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, rating from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
 
“This building is a perfect example of sustainable construction practices that can help us significantly reduce that impact,” said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health.

Primary Research Project Provides New Perspectives on Denver Foreclosures
 
A new 81-page report, titled Understanding Mortgage Foreclosures in Denver, is helping city managers gain a greater understanding of the underlying causes for the rapid rise in residential mortgage foreclosure filings in Denver. The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) has published the in-depth study of impacts on the City and County of Denver.
