Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will aslo be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Bonfils Blood Center needs more than 4,000 volunteer donors weekly.  Earth Day Fair April 22 -  The City and County of Denver will participate in this celebration by hosting the 2008 Earth Day Fair in Civic Center Park at the Greek Amphitheater from 10 AM to 2 PM.  People nationwide will be celebrating Earth Day to inspire awareness and appreciation for our planet.  Construction Job Fair April 23 - With dozens of construction cranes dotting the metro area landscape, there are numerous construction openings for Denver area job seekers. To assist in filling these positions, Denver is sponsoring the Construction Industry Job Fair. Old House Expo May 10 - Learn about creative and economical solutions to improving older homes. 12 free workshops offer experts on energy efficiency, use of space, remodeling, taking care of old windows and masonry  - as well as protecting yourself with permits and more. Creative Spaces May 14 – Town hall meeting reports results of Creative Space Online Survey.
