
March 1, 2007 - To further assist job seekers with the skills and training needed to succeed in today’s workforce, the
Denver Office of Economic Development proudly opens a
new flagship training center at 1391 N. Speer Blvd., Suite 510.
The new center is the largest training facility offered through Denver’s system of five workforce development and training centers. Equipped with three classrooms and a lab area, the center is projected to
serve approximately 500 residents monthly.
“Our new facility is a tremendous resource for job seekers and employers alike,” says
Cec Ortiz, deputy director of the Denver Office of Economic Development. “It will assist us greatly with increasing the job skills and employability of residents, while meeting the training needs of employers.”
The Denver Office of Economic Development,
Division of Workforce Development offers a wide variety of computing and career development skill classes at locations throughout Denver. Classes include computer basics, keyboarding, file management, Internet, email, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Career development classes include resume preparation, cover letters, references, thank you letters, interviewing skills and salary negotiations.

The OED Division of Workforce Development assists Denver businesses with their staff recruitment and training needs. Utilizing five full-service workforce centers located throughout Denver, the Division of Workforce Development
