NOVEMBER 17, 2006 -- Denver’s Department of Public Works is working closely with RTD, commuters and local neighborhoods to balance the needs of on-street parking in communities near newly opened Southeast Light Rail Stations. New parking management programs created to address neighborhood parking and safety concerns have been initiated in the neighborhoods adjacent to the Louisiana-Pearl Station and the Dayton Station starting Friday, November 17.
As the addition of 13 new light rail stations have been opened, it is essential to maintain the interests of the existing communities in the surrounding areas. While City-enforced parking programs will certainly assist the neighborhoods with parking management, it is absolutely critical that commuters do not park in the neighborhoods surrounding light rail stations.
Louisiana - Pearl Station
Located on the west side of I-25 between Washington Street and Louisiana Avenue, this stop was designed as a neighborhood station with no parking. This was planed to encourage commuters to access the station by taking the bus, walking, carpooling and bicycling. In order to discourage transit-users from monopolizing residential on-street parking near the station, new parking restrictions have been implemented with enforcement beginning Friday, November 17.
Residents living in this neighborhood (for specific blocks see below) should obtain a parking permit/sticker if they plan to park on the street. Currently close to 75% of the residents in the area have already acquired their permits/stickers. The parking restrictions around the Louisiana- Pearl Station allow two-hour parking from 8am through 6pm, Monday through Friday.
RESIDENTS on the following blocks near the Louisiana-Pearl Light Rail Station are eligible for permits:

The Dayton Station
Located in the median of I-225, features a 250 space park-n-Ride facility with a pedestrian connection to the nearby Denver residential community. It is important for commuters be considerate and not park in the surrounding neighborhood.
Parking restrictions in this area will allow a combination of "2-Hour Parking" and "No Parking Anytime.” The 2-Hour Parking restrictions (on Mansfield Avenue, Nassau Avenue and the north side of Oxford Drive) will occur from 8:00am through 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The No Parking Anytime restrictions will apply to the south side of Oxford Drive and along Boston Avenue.
