City Council “Virtual Town Meeting” invites suggestions for snow operations plan

Councilwoman Marcia Johnson, Chair of the Denver City Council Public Works Committee, has announced the launch of a “Virtual Town Meeting” on improvements to the City’s snow operations plan.

“Council members have received many creative suggestions for operational improvements during and after major snow storms,” Johnson said. “The Public Works Department is revamping its operations plan, and I wanted to provide an easy, organized way for people to contribute to the discussion.”

A special email box has been created to receive suggestions. Anyone can share ideas with City Council, Mayor Hickenlooper, and the Public Works Department by emailing to SnowGo!@ci.denver.co.us. Submit by May 11.

Public Works Department senior staff will present ideas for changes to the operations plan to the City Council Public Works Committee at its meeting on Wednesday, May 23. Suggestions received at SnowGo! by May 11 will be part of that discussion.

Denver Channel 8 will provide live TV coverage of the meeting beginning at 10:30 a.m. Streaming video of the meeting can be viewed online live, or on-demand shortly after the May 23 meeting.
