Mayors 2007 Budget Released
Public Gets Look at Guiding Document
 
SEPTEMBER 15, 2006 -- Mayor John Hickenlooper presented his administration's proposed City budget for 2007 Friday, September 15, 2006. The document, now on-line, is available here for inspection.

The release of the Budget is the next formal step taken to meet the requirements of the Charter of the City and County of Denver on its way to becoming the official guide for revenue, expenditures and operations for next year. The files of the proposed budget are searchable.

On September, 18, the Mayor and Council will begin meeting with City Departments to review and discuss the provisions of agency budgets. The dialogue looks to explore details and sharpen the focus of the documents. Six different sessions are scheduled and all will be covered live on the City's municipal access channel, Denver 8 TV. The programs will also be repeated each evening for convenient viewing by city residents. All programs will also be available on-line either as a live stream or anytime from the on-demand archive.   • Replay: Sept. 21,  9:30 p.m.
  • Friday, September 22,  9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; Denver Health; Environmental Health; Human Services;
  • Replay: Sept. 24, 2:00 p.m.
  • Friday, September 22, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.; Parks and Recreation; General Services
  • Replay: Sept. 23,   6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, September 25,   8:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.; Safety Department - Fire - Police- Sheriff
  • Replay: Sept. 25  9:00 p.m.
  • Monday, September 25,  12:noon - 2:30 p.m.; Technology Services; Public Works
  • Replay: Sept. 28  5:30 p.m.
After receiving and considering City Council's recommendations, the Mayor will submit to the City Council a final proposed budget by the third Monday in October. This year that date is October 16, 2006. The next week, October 23, this proposed budget will be the subject of a City Council Public Hearing.
