2009 Mayor’s Design Awards Announced
Mayor John Hickenlooper celebrated the growing number of Denver’s homeowners, small business owners and developers who have made design excellence a priority in their community at the fifth annual Mayor's Design Awards. The program honored 15 diverse projects that enhance the city.

Now is the time to make your reservations to participate in the Friday, June 6, "Spring into Health" event. This premier event is a showcase of fitness and wellness programs. This year's keynote speaker is Joan Borysenko, Ph. D., one of the leading experts on stress, spirituality and the mind/body connection.  She has a doctorate in medical sciences from Harvard Medical School, is a licensed clinical psychologist, and is the co-founder and former director of the Mind/body Clinical Programs at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.  Jane Borysenko is the author of several books including; "Your Soul's Compass", Inner Peace for Busy People" and "Saying Yes to Change: Essential Wisdom for Your Journey".
 
There will be an assortment of informative topics to learn of or join in the latest fitness classes including Zumba" and "Tai Chi", chair massages and fitness walk through the gardens. Tickets can be purchased for $5 at the Highland Recreation Center, 2880 Osceola Street, or call 303-458-4868.
