 Economic Development Forum
Economic Development Forum

The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) and Denver City Councilwoman Marcia Johnson will host an Economic Development Forum, Tuesday, June 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Johnson & Wales University Events Center, 1900 Olive St. in Denver.

The forum will address development opportunities in City Council District Five, as well as economic development tools and financing options available to business owners, developers and community organizations along East Colfax Ave. Presenters include Councilwoman Johnson, OED, Denver Office of Cultural Affairs, The Fax Partnership, Seedco Financial Services-Denver, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority and the Mile High Community Loan Fund.

“In 2007, we on City Council rezoned the entire Colfax corridor to Main Street Zoning, to encourage a vital mix of residential and business uses,” said Johnson. “The three Main Street zoning categories reference height maximums of three, six or ten stories to encourage development above and beyond the typical commercial strip. We value Colfax’s existing businesses, but living units on Colfax are also needed to support both new and existing enterprises.”

The forum is sponsored by OED, Councilwoman Marcia Johnson, the Denver Enterprise Zone and Seedco Financial Services-Denver.

To register, call 303-297-7403 or email gnorth@seedco.org. For more information, visit OED online at www.milehigh.com.

The Denver Office of Economic Development works to create a local environment that stimulates balanced economic growth through job creation, business assistance, housing options and neighborhood redevelopment.
