Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will aslo be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Creative Spaces Creative Spaces The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs and the Denver County Cultural Council (DCCC) of the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District invite the community to a town hall meeting to report the results of the Creative Space Online Survey.  The survey served to gauge the commercial, retail, studio and live/work space needs and preferences of individual artists, arts organizations and creative businesses. The town hall meeting to report the results of the survey is Wednesday, May 14th at 7 p.m. at the Oriental Theatre, 4335 W. 44th Avenue.  No RSVP is required.  The study included two surveys: one for artists and one for organizations and businesses.  It examined the need for creative space, identified the types of spaces required and assessed where arts organizations and creative businesses can exhibit, perform, rehears and conduct business. The study was co-commissioned by DOCA and DCCC to include an analysis of SCFD Tier III organizations’ space needs.  The need for the study was identified by the Mayor’s Task Force on Creative Spaces, and is recommended in their final report, Space Matters.
