
THE DENVER “BIKE TO WORK DAY” BREAKFAST STATION AT CIVIC CENTER PARK A FAVORITE AMONG CYCLISTS
Stop by Civic Center Park and join the fun on Bike To Work Day, June 24 from 6:30am-9am!
Denver Public Works is proud to host the region’s largest Bike To Work Day Breakfast Station at Civic Center Park from 6:30am – 9:00am on June 24, 2009. Stop by and enjoy free samples from our vendors and learn more about a variety of local organizations promoting cycling and “green” living.
Two new additions for 2009 are the Yellow Designs Stunt Team, an amazing group of BMX trick-riders performing choreographed thrill-shows and extreme stunt demonstrations, and a bike tech team from Bicycle Village explaining technical issues and doing minor repairs, as well as testing and diagnosing bigger bicycle issues.
More highlights of the morning include:
- Free bike helmets and fittings will be available while supplies last courtesy of Craig Hospital
- Official radio sponsor 99.5FM The Mountain will provide the emcee duties and will be giving away a prize every 30 minutes
- The Public Works much-loved “Green” Street Sweeper will make an appearance and staff will distribute sweeping and parking action cards
- An educational display on the ozone will be provided by Denver Environmental Health.
- Denver Recycles will provide on-site recycling collection as well as information and tips on recycling
- Denver Parks & Recreation will be providing info on great low-cost summer activities for the whole family
- Mayor John Hickenlooper and Deputy Mayor/Public Works Manager Bill Vidal will address the crowd around 7:40am.
