Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will aslo be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Library Used Book Sale Returns to June Library Used Book Sale Returns to June The fund-raiser is an event of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation.Presented by the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, the Used Book Sale is a fundraiser to benefit the Denver Public Library. The Used Book Sale Preview Party is open to Friends of the Library; new members are welcome and registration is easy to complete online at www.dplfirends.org, or by calling 720-865-2051.  Used Book Sale Preview Party offers members the chance to shop the sale ahead of the general public, while enjoying a garden party reception.   Mark your calendar for the Denver Public Library's three-day book sale this June!  The Used Book Sale will run Friday, June 12 - Sunday, June 14, and will be held on the north lawn of Denver Central Library located at 10 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy. (80204).   More than 80,000 books will be available, including children's books, non-fiction and fiction books, along with CDs, DVDs and books on tape. The fund-raiser is an event of the Denver Public Library Friends Foundation. Buyers' Bargains Hardbound Books:  $2 Paperback Books:  50 cents Better Books are priced individually and often include new and collectible books. Teachers receive a special 25 percent discount. Sale Schedule Friday, June 12, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday, June 14 - 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Also on Sunday, is the Great Book Giveaway from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. This one-hour event is open to teachers and non-profit organizations with valid identification. All materials are free during the Great Book Giveaway. Books are collected year-round from generous donors and de-accessioned materials from the Denver Public Library.
