Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will aslo be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. New Year's Services Schedule New Year's Services Schedule Denver parking meters will be free on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2009, and Denver trash collection and recycling services will operate on a one-day-delayed holiday schedule following New Year’s Day. Denver parking meters are free on all City-recognized holidays and on Sundays. Both trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day for all Denver residents following the holiday closure:  Thursday’s scheduled collections will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s collections will be picked up on Saturday. Also, Denver residents are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees through the Treecycle program that grinds Christmas trees into mulch.  The mulch is then offered to Denver residents, free of charge, in the spring.  Call 720-865-6810 for complete details on the Treecycle program.
