Denver Elections Division issues challenge to area nonprofits and raise funds for causes

In an innovative effort to meet the need for Election Day poll workers, nonprofit organizations throughout the area have been issued a challenge: Organize your volunteers and supporters to step up and become Election Day poll workers who will pledge to donate their poll worker fee back to your organization. The volunteers that are recruited would have the opportunity to do two good deeds at once: to provide an election service that is vital to the whole community, and to raise money for cause they care about.
With voter turnout for the November 4 General Election anticipated to reach record levels, the Denver Election Division is charged with the task of recruiting 2,000 poll workers to fill positions at the city’s 185 polling places. Nonprofits and many other community groups can help achieve this goal, and in exchange earn some money as well as recognition for their commitment to serving the community.
Organizations invited to get involved are not limited to bonafide 501-C3s. The Denver Election Division encourages parent-teacher organizations, service clubs, bridge clubs, social organizations and other local networks to get involved as well.
Participating organizations will be listed on the Elections Division website (www.DenverVotes.org) along with contact information and a link back to their website, and will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from Denver Clerk and Recorder Stephanie Y. O’Malley. The Elections Division cannot turn poll worker paychecks directly over to organizations, so participating groups will need to independently organize their volunteers and arrange the donation with those volunteers.
Organizations wishing to participate will find more information at
