Welcome to the Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships

The Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships (DOSP) was created in January 2004 by Mayor Hickenlooper to serve as a liaison between the City of Denver and the nonprofit sector.  DOSP serves as a catalyst to leverage the best of Denver's public and nonprofit sectors to engage in innovative and collaborative work. DOSP believes that by working collectively, the public and nonprofit sectors can be even more efficient and effective in strengthening Denver's communities.
 
DOSP accomplishes these objectives through:
 
  • Connecting Government and CommunityBuilding relationships, understanding and capacity for the City and nonprofits to effectively work together
  • Supporting CollaborationWorking with City agencies and nonprofits to initiate and support ongoing collaborative efforts
  • Maximizing Financial, Capital and Nonprofit ResourcesLeveraging and coordinating resources around federal competitive grants and nonprofit resource and space sharing
  • Improving Community Need and Asset AnalysisEnsuring that nonprofits and City agency resources are effectively utilized to meet Census outreach goals in 2010 and helping the community use that data in future work

DOSP and Colorado Nonprofit Association receive ARRA grant -

Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships along with the Colorado Nonprofit Association have been awarded a $250,000 ARRA grant through a program called Strengthening Communities Fund.  Click here to read the full press release.

 

DOSP awards $900,000 in grants for energy efficiency work -
The first award goes to Energy Outreach Colorado to support the Nonprofit Energy Efficiency Program.  This unique effort provides energy audits and energy efficiency upgrades to nonprofit facilities within the City and County of Denver who serve low-income populations.  Since 2007, this successful program has completed 50 energy audits on nonprofit facilities, 22 nonprofit facilities have received energy upgrades, and 10 more are slated to receive upgrades by the end of 2009.  This has amounted to more than $137,000 in savings each year for nonprofits, as well as an energy savings of 400,000 kW and 100,000 terms. The second award goes to Groundwork Denver and their partner Mile High Youth Corps to provide neighborhood outreach, energy audits, energy efficiency upgrades, and energy education in eight low-income Denver neighborhoods as part of the Neighborhood Energy Action Partnership.  NEAP is a group of community and City partners working together to reach 29 Denver neighborhoods to help residents save money on energy bills, increase
