Office of the Independent Monitor

The OIM is a civilian oversight agency that was created by the City of Denver and began its work on August 1, 2005. The OIM is staffed by fourteen employees including seven monitors: the Monitor, the Senior Deputy Monitor and five Deputy Monitors, six of which are attorneys. In order to perform our outreach and research functions, the OIM is also staffed by a Policy Director, Community Relations Ombudsman and two Research Analysts. The staff’s work is supported by the OIM’s Office Manager and two Staff Assistants.
