The Environmental Assessment and Policy (EAP) Section performs monitoring and assessment of Denver's air and surface water quality to assure both public and environmental safety within our County. The water quality portion of this effort entails routine monitoring of the streams, lakes, and outfalls throughout the City. The air quality portion of this effort includes involvement in a variety of activities, although the primary focus is on assessment of the City's conditions based on a model developed with intensive sampling.
Results of these efforts are compared with state and federal standards and guidance to assure that public and environmental quality is maintained at a high level in Denver. EAP personnel are also involved with a variety of regulatory efforts ranging from standard and guidance development to enforcement. Go to the respective section for more information.
