Thursday, Nov. 26 - City and County of Denver offices will be closed for the day in observance of Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, November 27, most City and County offices will also be closed as Employees are taking a furlough day to help the City create budget savings during these challenging economic times. Casey Foundation assessing the department’s progress  the 2007 Third-Party Review requested by the agency. The Review Team found the department has made “significant progress” on several of the recommendations. 2009 Mayor’s Design Awards Announced Mayor John Hickenlooper celebrated the growing number of Denver’s homeowners, small business owners and developers who have made design excellence a priority in their community at the fifth annual Mayor's Design Awards. LEAP Program Helps with Heating LEAP Program Helps with Heating LEAP in Denver is designed to pay a portion of your heat bill, one-time during the winter season. LEAP, also known as LiEAP, also provides emergency assistance when a family receives a shut-off notice or when heat has already been shut-off. Households that qualify will receive an amount based on the cost of the heat bill, the number of people living in the home, and the household income.   The 2009/2010 LEAP application and eligibility requirements are set by the state this November 2. The LEAP new season starts Nov. 1, 2009 and will run through April 30, 2010.
