Where is the main courthouse located? Location and mailing address is 1437 Bannock St. Room 135, Denver, CO. The main cross streets are Colfax and Bannock.

Where can I park while visiting your downtown courthouse? Free parking is not provided by Denver County Court. There are parking meters on Bannock St, and 14th street (bring change, twenty five cents = 15 minutes). There are also numerous parking lots within blocks.

Municode.com; however, the judge/magistrate in court has the authority to modify these fines as she/he sees fit. Sentence/fines can be based on circumstances surrounding the case, severity, driving history.

Can I pay by phone? No. You must either pay your ticket in person in the Traffic Division, or pay via mail.

I cannot make it to my court date. What are my options? The court clerks only have the authority to reschedule a court date if you can provide written documentation of a family medical emergency. All other requests for a reschedule must go in front of a judge/magistrate. You may appear in court earlier than your scheduled date on your first appearance only, provided the clerk's office has received the original ticket from the issuing officer ( call the clerks office 720-865-7840 to find out). When this ticket has arrived you may come to "add-on" court Monday through Wednesday at 8:00a.m. or 1:00 p.m.; or Monday through Friday at 5:15 for 6:00 p.m. court.

I live out of State. What are my options? If you are scheduled for a mandatory court appearance and you live more than 100 miles outside of the City and County of Denver, you may "plea by mail" by sending a letter to the court. Send your "plea by mail" to the Denver County Court, 1437 Bannock St., Rm 135, Denver, CO. 80202. This correspondence should arrive before your court date, and include a request to resolve the summons by mail. Your plea by mail should include any information you would like the city attorney to take into consideration when offering you a possible plea bargain. Also include your name, case number, return address and phone number.

What are your hours of operation?
The traffic division clerk's office is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. 8:30 p.m.

I want to pay my ticket but it is "X'd" out at the bottom and doesn't indicate a price. What should I do? Your ticket may require a mandatory court appearance. Usually these charges are no license, no proof of insurance, careless driving, speeding 20 miles or over the posted limit (6 points) or a combination thereof. Speeding 20 miles or more over the posted limit requires a mandatory court appearance. You should call the Traffic Division for more information.

What forms of payment do you accept for fines? The Denver County Court accepts cash, money orders, pre-printed checks and certified bank funds. Visa and MasterCard are accepted at the main traffic division office (City and County Building) only.

I have a parking ticket and I disagree with the issuance of it. Who do I contact? Parking tickets are not traffic tickets. Contact the Parking Violations Bureau at the telephone number on the back of the ticket for assistance.
