EFFECTIVE Tuesday, July 6, 2010, the Warrants Division will move to the new Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse at 520 West Colfax Avenue (two blocks west of the current location in the City and County Building). For additional Information, click here.
The warrants division manages all warrants issued by Denver County Court. Fourteen team members combine their efforts to activate, inactivate, and verify warrants from the traffic, general sessions, and ciminal divisions of the Denver County Court.
After the court issues a warrant, the warrants division houses all active warrant case records in their files. The warrants division is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week to verify warrants for the police department.
When the police stop an individual for any reason, the police and the court do a record check to determine whether the defendant has outstanding warrants. If the court finds warrants, the police jail the individual and bring him or her to the earliest possible court hearing to answer the charge.
