Frequently Asked Questions
The Office of the Court Interpreter provides interpreter services to defendants and witnesses who speak languages other than English. These services allow defendants with limited English appearing in court to be able to understand what is taking place in the proceeding.
The need for Spanish speaking interpreters is most common, but the office continually receives requests to provide interpreters speaking dozens of languages from all around the world.
Interpreters are provided for Criminal, General Sessions,Traffic and Civil matters to include restraining orders.
