How to Apply for a Contractor License

Contractor Licensing in Denver is a two step process.  An applicant must hold a Supervisor Certificate or employ a Supervisor Certificate holder before applying for a Contractor License in a specific trade.  The type of work you will do determines your certificate and license requirements.  Categories listed below include Journeyman, Operator and Stationary Engineer Certificates.

Denver does not accept or reciprocate contractor licenses and/or certifcates form other counties or states. You must apply for a Denver license.

Once a Supervisor Certificate has been issued the Certificate holder can then apply for a Contractor License.

Individuals who are not Supervisor Certificate Holders wishing to apply for a Contractor License must employ a designated Supervisor of Record, who is a Certificate Holder, at all times. (To apply for a certificate click here)
