Denver Parks and Recreation, together with Winter Park Resort, announces the earliest recorded opening day of Ruby Hill Rail Yard, Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 12 p.m. Ruby Hill Rail Yard is a free urban terrain park for skiers and snowboarders, located in Ruby Hill Park at the intersection of Platte River Drive and Jewell Avenue in Denver.

2010 services changes in City trash collection

Changes to Denver Public Works Solid Waste Management’s garbage services are coming in January. Residents with automated barrel service will now have their overflow garbage picked up every three weeks. Winter weather returns to Mile High City

The latest forecasts are showing light snow continuing overnight, ending around morning rush hour.  A second cold front will pass through this evening, bringing temps into the low teens or single digits.  Blowing snow is a potential tonight with the passage of the front, and heavy equipment is available for deployment if the blowing snow results in drifting conditions.
