Yes, concurrent with the interchange project (but as a separate project), Forest City Stapleton will construct the extension of Central Park Boulevard from 36th Avenue to Northfield Boulevard.

What type of access will be provided for bikes and pedestrians at the interchange?

Central Park Boulevard is being designed (by Forest City Stapleton) to provide an adjacent bicycle and pedestrian multi-use path.  This path will extend through the interchange, providing an additional bicycle and pedestrian connection across I-70 between north and south Stapleton.

Will this project incorporate a separate structure for bikes/pedestrians?

While not part of this interchange project, a separate bicycle and pedestrian structure is a part of the long-range plan for Stapleton and the City and County of Denver.  As noted above, a bicycle and pedestrian multi-use path will be constructed along Central Park Boulevard through the interchange.

Will this project provide access to the future FasTracks rail station near Smith Road?

Forest City Stapleton will construct the extension of Central Park Boulevard from 36th Avenue through the I-70 interchange.  Central Park Boulevard will be an important access route to the future rail station near Smith Road.

Will this project change the traffic patterns on Central Park Boulevard?

Planning for the Stapleton redevelopment project has always anticipated the extension of Central Park Boulevard north of I-70, with an interchange at I-70.       Central Park and other streets within Stapleton have been planned, designed, and constructed to accommodate the traffic patterns associated with the extension of Central Park Boulevard and the I-70 interchange.
