1. The department employs inspectors who are assigned a particular part of the city to inspect. The inspectors are responsible for ensuring that all businesses that are required to be licensed obtain the proper licenses and that all licenses are kept up to date. The inspectors investigate complaints and respond to questions from citizens and businesses.
2. Pursuant to Chapter A, Article A, subsection A1.7, and Article IX of the Charter of the City and County of Denver, and Section 14-21(a) of the Denver Revised Municipal Code, department inspectors are authorized to issue summons and complaints into Denver County Court for violations of the Denver Revised Municipal Code.
