We are pleased to present Denver’s Annual Report to Citizens. Public performance reporting improves government operations by increasing accountability, enhancing transparency, and promoting efficiency.
This report provides an overview of Denver’s Strategic Framework and associated measures and initiatives. We have a culture in the City that is always interested in improving and reporting on our performance is paramount to sustaining that culture. Denver has maintained an AAA bond rating, one of the most established measures of prudent and efficient city management. We have paved more than 600 dirt alleys, more than doubled our recycling rate, and have planted more than 150,000 trees. All this in while maintaining a balanced budget in challenging fiscal times.
The City received a grant from the National Center for Civic Innovation in 2007 to prepare this report. We would like to thank the Center for their support and commitment to improved performance reporting.
