The Giving Program at the Denver Department of Human Services works to identify and help meet the needs of people whom DHS serves and those identified by our community partners as needing our help. We solicit donations from businesses and individuals, and develop and manage the fundraising and donation drives to meet those needs.

Sponsoring a Program
We are happy to work with organizations and individuals who would like to help sponsor a giving program at DHS. Please e-mail Patricia Garcia or call her at 720-944-1170.
We have a number of fundraising and donation drives throughout the year:
DHS Spring Basket Drive
Provides spring gift baskets to children dealing with issues of child abuse or neglect, as well as elderly and developmentally disable adults. Donations can include items for the baskets or funds to purchase items.
DHS School Supply Drive
Provides school supplies for children served through DHS programs. Supplies are needed for children in school from preschool through high school. Donations may be the actual items or funds to purchase items.
DHS Holiday Programs
Santa's Toy Bag
We help make the holiday season a little happier for families with children from birth to age 18 by providing NEW gifts. This program is especially for those people who are not served by any other holiday program
Be Santa to An Adult
We match donors with elderly or disable adults for holiday gift giving.
Gifts for Teens
This program helps meet one of our greatest needs during the holiday season: finding gifts specifically for teenagers
Holiday Caring
We distribute small gifts to the need through various offices at DHS right before the holidays
There are some things we always need:
- Diapers
- Stuffed animals - new or gently used
- Games - new or gently used
- Children's books - new or gently used and books in Spanish
- Toiletries
Many of these items are given to children in our Enrichment Center or to the teens at the Family Crisis Center.
