Kristen Patton - Agency Trainer
I am originally from the East Coast, but I have lived in Colorado since 1988.  I began my career in Public Safety in 1996, and joined with the Denver Police Department in 1999 as a Police Dispatcher.  After two years I became involved in the training program, and eventually promoted to Lead Police Dispatcher in 2001.  Since that time, I have taught numerous classes both internally and externally, and have continued my own career development by attending various workshops, seminars and classes in the field of Public Safety.  In 2003 I became involved with the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO), where I served on the Executive Board of Officers.  In 2005, I was elected President of the Board and had the honor of overseeing the 2005 APCO International Conference and Exposition here in Denver.

In my tenure with Denver, I have worked all shifts, but primarily worked the overnight shift or Detail One.  In more recent years, I have taught several Dispatcher classes back to back, and have enjoyed seeing the progress of the trainees I instruct.  I am proud to be part of the excellent management team here in Denver, and find it a privilege to be a part of the Training Department as an Agency Trainer.

Andrew Bodine - Agency Trainer

I was born in Texas a few blocks from NASA, but left after two weeks (nothing personal). I grew up traveling with my parents, two brothers, and a sister in a 32 foot motor home; eventually, we settled in New Mexico. In 1995 I moved to Durango, Colorado to pursue a BA in Anthropology at Fort Lewis College. I then earned an MA from Georgia State University in Philosophy, but returned to Colorado to finish my thesis.

Since then, I have worked as a Police/Fire/EMS Dispatcher for four years at the City of Westminster, and two years for Federal Heights PD. I have also served as an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy and Ethics with Front Range Community College, and as a writer and editor for several literary magazines.

I have two dogs and a cat: Moira (Irish Wolfhound/mutt), and Mathilda (a prematurely retired racing Greyhound), and Gabby (Manx mix). All of them were inherited from someone else. I live in Arvada, where I share a house with my best friends.

Helena Rothenberger - Agency Trainer

I was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina, but didn’t grow up there.  My father was in the Air Force, so I grew up in several different places.  We were never stationed out of the country, though we almost got to live in Germany when I was 14 but my father decided to retire instead.  The furthest we were ever stationed was in Guam.  My family moved to Colorado when I was 14 and we have lived here ever since.

My career with Denver 911 began in 1999 at the age of 19.  Since then I have had the opportunity to be involved in various responsibilities, including training.  I have taught several 911 Agent classes, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I have a son, stepson, and hope to have more children in the future.  I also have 3 very needy cats and a blind Schnauzer, who is also very needy.  I love animals, traveling, and life.
