56th AVENUE, QUEBEC TO PEÑA BOULEVARD
CORRIDOR STUDY AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
PROJECT UPDATE — AUGUST 2008
DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT TO BE RELEASED SOON
The City and County of Denver’s project team is continuing the study efforts to define a plan to improve mobility and safety in the 56th Avenue corridor.
In previous project updates, the project team described the project’s phasing issues. Available project funds would be used to construct improvements to 56th Avenue between Quebec and Havana Streets.
An Environmental Assessment for the Quebec Street to Havana Street section of the corridor is defining the specific features of the proposed improvements and mitigation of any environmental impacts.
The Environmental Assessment will be available in September for public review. A public hearing on the project will be held in October.
Studies of the segment of the 56th Avenue corridor from Havana Street to Peña Boulevard are complete and provide a future plan for improvements to this part of the corridor once funding becomes available.
