University Boulevard Bridge over Cherry Creek Rehabilitation
Denver Public Works is rehabilitating the University Boulevard Bridge over Cherry Creek between Cherry Creek Drive North and Cherry Creek Drive South.
Construction will begin May 20, 2008 and is scheduled to be completed by August 15, 2008.
Scope of work includes:
· Removing and replacing the existing median
· Replacement of the joints in both bridges
· Reconstructing the traffic signals on the north side of the project

The project will be built in four phases. During each phase two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction, as well as left turn lanes onto Cherry Creek Drive North and Cherry Creek Drive South. The bike path under the bridges will remain open during construction with some minor closures.
Phase 1: The work zone will be located in the center area of the bridges and traffic lanes will be shifted to the outside of the bridges.
Phase 2: The construction will take place in the outside lanes of the bridges and traffic lanes will be shifted to the center area of the bridges.
Phase 3: The work will be located on the northbound bridge and traffic lanes will be located on each bridge.
Phase 4: The center area of the bridges will be closed and traffic lanes will be shifted to the outside of each bridge.
Signs will be in place informing residents of the lane closures and construction.
